A POPULAR festival is expected to be a ‘great success’ when it returns to Wrexham this month.

Wrexfest 2017, organised by the community group Change Wrexham For Our Future, will see fans of music and art descend on the town between July 26-29 to enjoy a range of performances and activities for all the family.

The event will include four days of workshops at Undegun Arts Space for children of all ages, taking in theatre, poetry, spoken word and more – as well as a weekend of live music spread over Wrexham’s live music venues, including Saith Seren, Set The Bar, REWIND, Undegun and The Royal Oak.

On July 29 there will also be a free family fun day on Llwyn Isaf alongside Wrexham Street Festival, which will feature children’s activities, food and drink, live music, arts and crafts stalls and other attractions.

Wrexham mayor Cllr John Pritchard said: “I think it will be a great success, it is going to be great for the town.

“It is that time of year when the children are off school and we’re going to get a lot of people coming out and taking an interest.

“There are quite a lot of things happening in the town at the moment and it is definitely good news.”

Live acts so far confirmed include Louise Distras, Doppelganger, I Am Of The Universe, The Bod-Far-I Galactic Ensemble, Kidsmoke and The Jesse Janes, among many others.

Events during the festival will be a mixture of free, ticketed and donation entry and organisers are offering a four day pass for £15 guaranteeing entry to every event in the programme.
