Council develops smartphone app for Anglesey residents

A SMARTPHONE app has been released to help Anglesey residents get in touch with the council. 

AppMÔN will allow users to contact Anglesey Council, request services, report issues or get information. 

The app is out now and free to download from the Apple iTunes store, Google Play store or Windows Phone Store. 

Council leader, Cllr Ieuan Williams, said: “Our new app will enable Anglesey residents to report incidents, raise issues or complete applications any time or any place. 

“Well managed online services can provide many benefits to Anglesey residents. 

“We realise of course that some will still want to call into the council offices or pick up the phone. 

“They’re welcome to do that but AppMÔN will help us provide a quick and easy access to online services whenever customers need them. 

“This is an exciting transformational project which is allowing us to make public services more accessible, convenient and personalised.” 

Residents can attach photos and videos and pinpoint exact locations using the mapping system on their phone or tablet. 

The app will also allow users to track service requests, save forms for completion at a later date and access additional services. 

John Thomas of Anglesey Council said: “An effective bilingual mobile app has the potential to support the authority’s wider corporate transformation aims. 

“AppMÔN will help us deliver more public services online; facilitate a shift from face to face and telephone to a self-service digital channel and, in the long term, provide greater savings during times of austerity.” 

Use appmôn, AppMÔN, appmon, Cyngor Sir Ynys Mon or Isle of Anglesey County Council when searching for the app in the relevant appstore.
